A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a university incorporated by of an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an Act Parliament, or declared to be deemed as university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.

Eligibility for M.Sc Statistics
Candidates aspiring to pursue M.Sc Statistics need to fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criterion.
Completion of B.A. (Honors)/ B.Sc.(Honors) in Statistics or Mathematics or graduation in a related discipline from a recognized institute
Mathematics and Statistics as main subjects at the level of graduation
Minimum aggregate score of 60% at the level of graduation

Perhaps it may be difficult for you to be a PGT economics because MA in Economics is compulsory to be a PGT economics.
