GIBS Business School offers a structured learning approach for students from non-business or non-management academic backgrounds to succeed in the PGDM course through its support systems. Support systems include foundation or bridge courses in principles of accounting, economics, statistics, and basic business principles, allowing them to build core competencies. 

The PGDM curriculum is designed as progressive learning with core subjects that provide practical, hands-on applications of concepts through the case method, use of examples, and interactive approaches. Faculty members also provide supplementary academic support, ie. offering additional support under circumstances that require additional assistance (referred to as "? ). 

As well, communication skills training, aptitude workshops, and group projects support students from a diverse range of academic backgrounds in transitioning confidently into the business world and adapting to working in teams. Students have access to a variety of support structures that will assist them to succeed in the PGDM, regardless of their previous academic experience or qualifications.

GIBS Business School has designed a training method that focuses on placement and prepares students to be successful in both interviewing and in meeting the expectations of corporations. The training begins with a series of finishing-school modules that include; aptitude training, communication skills, group discussions, and mock interviews, all of which will help students feel confident and prepared for a successful interview experience.

Other forms of support for students in the preparation process include resume-building workshops, personality development sessions, and corporate etiquette training which all help students effectively present themselves to potential employers during the recruitment process. Students also have the opportunity to attend guest lectures, leadership talks, and interact with industry professionals. By interacting with professionals, students gain an understanding of the expectations an employer will have and what behaviour an employee should demonstrate in the workplace.

Through internships, live projects and mentoring from industry experts, students will also have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and practical exposure so they are well prepared for an interview and, ultimately, a successful career path. This ongoing preparation of students will give them the confidence, skills and professionalism that will be necessary for them to be successful in the interview process as well as in their future corporate careers.

GIBS regularly invites visiting instructors, experts from different industries and two corporate leaders every week to participate in the GIBS Learning Model, as well as the Multiple Real-World Business Methods.

These meetings are held approximately every two weeks as part of a comprehensive set of value-added activities such as workshops, industrial site visits, and placement-related programs that have been arranged with various corporate partners.

The Purpose of These Types of Guest Lectures:
To provide students with insight into how an actual business operates by being able to hear from professionals who operate real businesses on a daily basis.

To help students make the connection between what they have learned in the classroom and the actual application of those concepts in the industry.

To help students prepare for their upcoming job placement opportunities by giving them firsthand knowledge of current employment trends, case studies, and how the companies they plan to work for expect their employees to act.

GIBS usually holds a corporate or outside guest lecture at least one time per week, so guest lectures and events at GIBS are generally scheduled as part of the normal academic calendar, not as a few separate events.

The GIBS Business School has recently reported excellent industry participation during its last scheduled placement season. Over 230 recruiters arrived on the GIBS campus to recruit students for their final placements and approximately 80-90 companies were active in recruiting those individuals for their summer internships. Through a successful entrepreneurial ecosystem on the GIBS campus, approximately 30-32 student startups were recorded. All these numbers indicate GIBS has a large pool of potential recruiters available and a lot of student activity within the entrepreneurial sector towards employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
