GIBS Business School provides students with the opportunity to plan and execute their own events while receiving guidance and assistance from faculty. Faculty are not ultimately responsible for directing events, but instead serve as mentors and coaches to students, helping them develop their leadership and management skills. All types of events are run by students, including Cultural Activities, Management Fests, Guest Lectures, Industry Conclaves, Workshops, etc., with each type of event having its own Team that will manage all aspects of planning, organizing, executing, promoting, and obtaining sponsorship for the event. Faculty are always available to assist students with developing their strategic direction, managing project risk, establishing industry connections, and providing quality oversight for projects. The experience students gain in managing events is critical to developing their leadership, teamwork, communication, and project management competencies, which will assist them in their future professional careers.

GIBS does not have a reputation for being hard to contact for academic support or career guidance; however, GIBS professors go above and beyond to help students with their academic queries and support them in their career searches. Faculty at GIBS encourage students to have regular interaction with them and provide students with many opportunities to get help from them. Many professors offer students several opportunities to meet with them one-on-one and send emails with questions or ideas learned in class or from research. Faculty will also assist students with many aspects of their journey through school, including helping studentsprepare for success in their academic and professional lives. Because of this close relationship, GIBS professors provide students with a lot of support during their time at GIBS.

GIBS supports student projects, research projects, and entrepreneurial ventures on their new campus through a multi-layered approach that integrates academic mentoring with experiential learning through industry interaction and exposure to real world situations.

Project and Research Mentoring – Faculty members serve as mentors for students in their areas of expertise. Mentors work with students to formulate research questions, develop the methodology for projects, gather data, analyze their findings, and present them in research papers and presentations. Mentors provide regular feedback on student projects and oversee the progress of students through their thesis review and research review processes. Many times the outcome of these projects can result in a published paper or participation in a research conference.

Live Industry Projects – GIBS partners with corporations to provide students with actual business challenges and problems to solve through their industry studies. Live industry projects develop a range of skills including analytical reasoning, decision-making, and execution skills. GIBS follow-up on all projects by allowing students to present their findings to an audience of industry experts.

IRE Platform (Innovation, Research and Entrepreneurship) – IRE is GIBS's flagship initiative that provides students with hands-on learning opportunities. The IRE platform enables students to conceptualize their business ideas, test their business plans, develop and construct their minimum viable products, and receive feedback on their projects from industry experts. Activities related to IRE include bootcamps, ideate challenges, pitching events and workshops on entrepreneurship tools and methods.

Entrepreneurial Events and Competitions – GIBS hosts numerous entrepreneurial events (i.e., hackathons, pitch days, and IRE Talks) that provide opportunities for students to connect and interact with founders, investors and leaders in the industry to gain insight into their startup ideas and receive real-time feedback.

Industry Connections and Networking - GIBS provides students with multiple opportunities to connect to the business community on campus.
