Can you please specify your university and grades because now-a-days, it is really difficult to get a job in core industries specially in electronics field. I suggest you to join any engineering company which you get easily.

Both the streams are good for studying and it depends upon your interest but as per career prospect, electrical is better than electronics because in India the number of electronics industries are limited.

If you do M.Tech EEE from IITs or NITs then you can get good placement and will also have better learnings.

In order to have clear fundamentals and understanding on electrical engineering to build alternators, you are advised to opt for Diploma in Electrical Engineering. This will also help you set up other electrical goods manufacturing unit in long run.

IES
IES stands for Indian Engineering Service. If you have completed B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Electronics and Communication Engineering then you can apply for the Indian Engineering Service.
