Hi.
Yes — you can absolutely apply for B.Tech/B.E. Automobile, Civil, Electrical, or Electronics (ECE/EEE) at Chandigarh University (CU) even if your JEE Main percentile is below 70.
1. JEE Main is not required for admission at CU
For all engineering branches, including:
Automobile Engineering
Civil Engineering
Electrical Engineering (EE)
Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)

Hi.
CU admissions for B.E./B.Tech (and most UG courses) are based on its own entrance test CUCET.
According to CU's 2026 admission criteria page, to get admission you must apply through CUCET; that's the standard path for all engineering programmes.
While CU does accept JEE Main rank/scores, that acceptance is primarily for the purpose of scholarship eligibility (merit-based fee waiver) rather than for seat allotment.
The official “JEE-Mains Performance Based Scholarship” scheme mentions that at most 5% of total intake seats in each course are offered under that scheme.
CUCET is mandatory for admission — you can't skip it

Hi.
CU offers a merit-based scholarship scheme for JEE Main rank holders. Students with a good All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main can get from 10% up to 100% semester-fee waiver under the “JEE-Mains Performance Based Scholarship” plan.
This scholarship scheme applies to engineering courses broadly, which suggests that if you get admitted into Mechanical / Mechatronics / Aerospace via CU's regular admission process, your JEE Main status could help reduce fees under that scheme.

Hi.
CUCET = Primary & Mandatory Admission Route
For all B.Tech/B.E. programs, including CSE and its specialisations, CU treats CUCET as the official and required entrance test for admission.
CUCET decides the following:
Eligibility for admission
Merit ranking / seat allotment
Scholarship slab (CUCET-based)
If you want a seat, especially in high-demand branches (CSE, AI/ML, DS, Full-Stack, IoT-AI, Cybersecurity, etc.), your CUCET score is what matters for admission.
2. JEE Main = Optional (Used for Scholarships, Not for Admission)
Chandigarh University accepts JEE Main scores, but only for:
Scholarship benefits (based on percentile / AIR)
Merit co

Hi.
Because industry-collaborated programs are just specialised versions of CU's engineering offerings:
Admission to them is via CUCET, same as regular B.E./B.Tech courses.
A JEE Main score alone — without appearing in (or qualifying) CUCET — is not enough to guarantee admission (according to official policy as of 2025).
Using JEE Main may help for scholarship eligibility or possibly as a merit-consideration — but admission seat allotment appears based on CUCET.

Hi.
Yes — if a student doesn't qualify (or doesn't take) JEE Main, they can still get admission to Chandigarh University (CU / B.E. / B.Tech) via CUCET (the university's own entrance test), under certain conditions.
How it works at CU
For B.E. / B.Tech and other engineering courses, CU considers CUCET as the primary entrance exam for admission.
If you don't take JEE Main (or don't get a good percentile), you can simply write CUCET (provided you meet basic 10+2 eligibility, e.g. Physics + Maths in 12th).
Also, for students who scored high in 10+2 (≥ 90%), CU may provide exemptions from CUCET — but that's based on board mark

Hi.
Yes — JEE Main qualifiers are eligible
CU lists a “JEE-Mains Performance Based Scholarship” among its merit-based scholarship schemes.
Under this scheme, depending on All-India Rank (AIR), students can get anywhere from 10% up to 100% fee waiver (for top ranks) — although only a small portion of seats (typically up to 5% per course intake) are reserved under this scheme.
This scheme is described generically as “for Engineering Courses, ” which implies it's not limited to core/traditional branches only.
Branch-agnostic (Specialised branches included)
The scholarship scheme does not explicitly restrict el

Hi.
JEE Main Percentile Consideration
Primary Admission Criteria: For many engineering colleges in India, including CU, the JEE Main percentile is often considered as a key parameter for shortlisting candidates for admission to various branches, especially the popular and competitive ones like ECE, Electrical, and Mechatronics.
Higher Percentile Advantage: A higher JEE Main percentile can give you a better chance of securing admission to the more sought-after branches. For example, candidates with percentiles above 90 generally have a higher chance of admission into these branches, as they are considered to be more competitive.

Hey, as a student checking out B.Tech Agricultural Engineering options, I'd pick Lovely Professional University (LPU) over Bhagwant University. LPU shines with its modern labs, huge green campus, and hands-on training like field visits and crop projects that match real farm tech needs.
Their curriculum mixes engineering basics—think farm machinery, irrigation systems, and soil tech—with practical skills from industry pros, plus scholarships up to full fees based on LPUNEST scores. Placements rock too, with top agri firms visiting often.
Bhagwant University offers solid basics, no doubt, but lacks LPU's scale in research, global

Hey, yeah, your friend with 89.4% in CBSE Class 12th can totally aim for direct admission at LPU without LPUNEST, especially for B.Tech programs. LPU's super flexible—they check your board marks first and often skip the entrance if you're above the basic eligibility like 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Math. That solid score puts your friend in a great spot for merit-based entry, plus awesome scholarships up to big amounts based on performance. LPU makes it easy with online apps and quick processing on their site. No need to stress over extra tests when boards are this strong—it's one reason LPU feels student-friendly a
