VIIT was granted six years of "A" grade accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an independent body that was founded by the UGC. ADYPU is also one of the most prestigious academic groups in Pune, and is affiliated to SP Pune University. The eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Tech programme at MIT School of Engineering, Pune are as follows:

1. Academic Qualification :

- Only candidates with a Bachelors's degree in the related areas of engineering and applied sciences with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or with BSC in the related areas of engineering and applied science, from a recognized university in the UGC, may apply for the job.

- For general category students, the requisite minimum aggregate marks is 50%, while for reserved category candidates like SC/ST/OBC/physically impaired from Maharashtra state, it becomes 45%.
