Admission to the M.E. course is based on GATE/MHTCET M.Tech score. The Maharashtra M.Tech Admissions are conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. GATE scores will be considered for M.Tech admissions as DTE Maharashtra does not have a separate M.Tech Entrance Exam. Based on GATE scores, DTE Maharashtra publishes the merit list for admission. Three rounds of counselling will be used to allot seats to candidates whose names are on the list.

Once the institute has closed the application portal, the institute conducts the AEEE exam. Those who wish to take the exam via AEEE and have registered for the same must appear for the exam on the scheduled date.

Once the results are announced, the admission committee begins with the counselling process. Thus, candidates aspiring to take admission must participate in the Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP). In this process, the BTech seats are allocated based on the candidate's performance in the accepted entrance exams.
