Yes, I feel it is. This is because a huge amount of cargo is imported and exported by sea. India's economy is growing quite rapidly, and the Indian Navy is also a very strong part of our country.

The requirement of Marine Engineers to man the ship will increase. If you are getting admission to a Marine engineering course, I would recommend that you go for it without any doubt.

It's huge, to be honest. Be it Merchant Navy, Production, Manufacturing, Research, or Education, Marine Engineers are required everywhere. There's a huge demand for these Engineers in countries like the USA, Dubai, Singapore, etc., for their international shipping hubs.
Even in India, you can explore high-paying and respectable job options in the Indian Navy, Maritime institutes, the Indian Coast Guard, etc.

Candidates who are applying for PhD courses from the engineering department such as NIT Jalandhar chemical engineering or NIT Jalandhar civil engineering departments must have a ME/MTech degree of the relevant field. However, NIT Jalandhar also offers PhD courses in Humanities, Science and Management sectors where, an ME/MTech degree is not required.

No, you cannot pursue M.Tech through distance education at MAIET. The mode of study for the offered course is full-time. If a course claims to be distance M.Tech then it's not AICTE recognised.
