Section-Wise Difficulty (B.Pharm Stream)

  • Mathematics:

    • Considered the toughest section.

    • Heavy focus on calculus, integration, and coordinate geometry.

    • Time-consuming and required conceptual clarity.

  • Physics:

    • Moderate difficulty.

    • Questions from mechanics, optics, and modern physics.

    • Numerical problems were lengthy, testing speed and accuracy.

  • Chemistry:

    • the easiest section.

    • Mostly NCERT-based questions from organic and inorganic chemistry.

    • Direct formula-based and factual questions helped students score quickly.

Newton, Scaler, and Polaris are all new-age private tech schools with strong industry-focused curricula, but their degree recognition differs: Newton and Polaris offer UGC-recognized B.Tech degrees (through partner universities), while Scaler primarily provides certifications with parallel degree tie-ups. If your priority is a formally recognised degree for government jobs or higher studies, Newton or Polaris are safer; if your focus is cutting-edge curriculum and placements, Scaler has stronger industry immersion.

With a JEE Main rank of ~13,00,000, admission to government engineering colleges through JoSAA (NITs, IIITs, GFTIs) is not possible. Even the lowest closing ranks for Civil/Mechanical in newer NITs or GFTIs usually end around 7–8 Lacs rank.

 Where You Still Have Chances

1. State Government Colleges (via State Counseling)

  • Many state-level engineering admissions (like REAP Rajasthan, HSTES Haryana, UPSEE/UPCET, Maharashtra CAP) accept students with ranks above 10 lakh.
  • Branches possible: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Production Engineering.
  • CSE/IT is very unlikely in government colleges at this rank.

2. Private Universities

To secure admission in B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) at IUST (Islamic University of Science & Technology, Awantipora, J&K), you generally need a JEE Main percentile of around 90–95 for General category and 85–90 for EWS/OBC categories. Below this range, CSE becomes very difficult, though lower branches may still be available.

IUST CSE Admission Cutoff (JEE Main Percentile)

  • General Category:

    • Safe percentile: 90–95+

    • Closing rank usually falls around 40,000–50,000 (All India).

  • EWS/OBC-NCL:

    • Safe percentile: 85–90+

    • Closing rank around 60,000–70,000.

  • SC/ST:

    • Safe percentile: 70–75+

    • Closing rank around 1.2–1.5 l

With 81.3 percentile in JEE Main (EWS category), you can get admission in GL Bajaj Institute of Technology & Management (Greater Noida) for B.Tech CSE, because GL Bajaj is a private college and its admission process is more flexible compared to NITs/IIITs.

 Admission Process at GL Bajaj

  • Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.
  • Entrance Route:
    • Through UPSEE/UPCET counseling (state quota).
    • Direct admission based on JEE Main percentile or Class 12 marks.
  • Cutoff Trends:
    • For CSE, JEE Main percentile usually required is 75–80+.
    • With 81.3 percentile (EWS), you are comfortably eligible.

With a 70 percentile in JEE Main (General category) and being from Andhra Pradesh (AP), here's a clear picture of your admission chances:

What 70 Percentile Means

  • Approximate rank: 3,00,000 – 4,50,000.
  • NITs/IIITs via JoSAA: Not possible, since even the lowest cutoffs for Civil/Mechanical in newer NITs close around 2–2.5 lakh.
  • Government colleges in AP: You can still get admission through AP EAPCET (state counseling), where JEE Main rank is also considered for some seats.

 Options in Andhra Pradesh

1. Government Colleges (via Andhra Pradesh EAPCET Counseling)

  • JNTU Kakinada, JNTU Anantapur, AU College of Engineering (Visakhapatnam).

  • JoSAA (NIT/IIIT/GFTI): ❌ Not possible.

  • State Govt Colleges (REAP Rajasthan): ✅ Possible, but mostly in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical.

  • Private Universities: ✅ Strong chance for CSE/IT/ECE.

👉 My advice:

  • Fill REAP AND OTHER STATES counseling for Rajasthan government colleges (you may get Civil/Mechanical/Electrical).

  • Apply to private universities in Jaipur (VGU, JECRC, Amity, Poornima) if you want CSE/IT.

  • Keep both routes open so you don't miss out.

To get admission in NIT Puducherry MTech, students have to check the eligibility first. Eligible students can then apply online. The institute mainly offers seats through GATE + CCMT counselling basis. Selected students have to pay the admission fees to complete the process.
