PES University admission for UG and PG courses are entrance based. Candidates are shortlisted for the interview after PESSAT. Shortlisting is done on the basis of merit with reference to the PESSAT scores of the candidates. Hereafter, the list of candidates who qualify PESSAT is notified on the official website and the interview round commences for the shortlisted candidates.

In 2025, the IIT Palakkad CSE cutoff was relatively less competitive for admission as compared to that of IIT Tirupati and IIT Goa for students belonging to the General AI quota. The CSE cutoff ranged between 4620 and 5034 for IIT Tirupati, while for IIT Goa, it ranged from 5626 to 6242. For IIT Palakkad, the cutoff ranks were between 5736 and 6454 for CSE admission in the General category.

This depends on your specific job role and market. For example, if you're working as a field test engineer, project engineer, or mechanical testing and validation engineer, you will have to visit manufacturing sites for equipment installation and maintenance and mechanical design and process testing.
On the other hand, if you're working as a mechanical design engineer involved in the design and analysis of mechanical blueprints, a research and development engineer, or a manufacturing engineer on production floors, your job will not have much fieldwork but rather be restricted to indoor creativity and brainstorming.

for admission. In last round the cutoff rank closed at 6454. Therefore the probability of you getting CSE with a 6000 rank is high in last round only for admission. Please note that the cutoff ranks differ every year for each round. So it is advisable to target a rank lower than 6000 to improve your chances of admission. IIT Roorkee admission 2025 is primarily entrance-based. The college accepts several entrance exams for admission to its various courses, such as JEE Advanced, JoSAA, IIT JAM, GATE, etc. Further, candidates seeking admission to the BTech programme at IIT Roorkee must fill the application form for JEE (Main) through the official website of the National Testing Agency.
