The candidate, if admitted, will have to clear the subjects of Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing of the 1st year Degree Course Engineering/Technology along with their second-year subjects. Candidates are not eligible for admission in Jadavpur University through lateral entry.

What is the cut off for COEP for the OBC? Well for MECH AND CS cutoff is high, for 2016 cutoff for OBC for CS and Mechanical was 183 and 175 for 1 Cap round for 2nd and 3rd it decreased to around 170 for Mech and 175 for CS Cutoffs for other branches are not as high as CS and Mech.

Yes, universities do take a close look at the number of backlogs. Most of the top good universities do not accept more than 6 (or 8) backlogs. For top universities, it would be maximum 2. Secondly, they would also look at the CGPA in the last 2 years (4 semesters).
