Hi, Aircraft maintenance engineering is not a degree or Diploma programme, but it is a training programme. After the successful completion of the training, a license is issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). During the training session, students will be taught about the service and maintenance of aircraft so as to ensure flight safety. Please refer to the link below:

Aircraft maintenance engineering course is definitely not an engineering course even though the word engineering appears in the title. However one cannot call it a technician's course also. This is because a student gets a degree or B.Sc. After 3 years of studies in this course. After the completion of the course the students get the license from DGCA to work as aircraft maintenance engineers on the aircraft which are used by civil Airlines for carrying passengers and / or cargo. Technician as knowledge is important for technical terms and have knowledge can do management better.

Yes, it's a good option but it will be better if you opt for Bachelor's for a good job.
