There is no age limit or restriction for taking Duolingo English Test. Students of any age can take the DET (Duolingo English Test). The aim of this english proficiency test is to proof the English language proficiency that is required to study or work in any English speaking countries like USA, Canada, New Zealand and etc. Note that, applicants aged below 13 years require parental consent.

Meeting the English language requirements is one of the major Portland State University admission requirements for international students. PSU accepts major English exam scores as proof of English language proficiency. Students can refer to the table below for minimum score requirements:

UT Austin does not accept Duolingo test score for undergradute and graduate admission. For the University of Texas at Austin admissions, international students can submit IELTS or TOEFL score.  International students have to submit their IELTS score to meet  University of Notre Dame English language requirements. However, University of Notre Dame also approves other English tests such as TOEFL, PET, and Duolingo were completed within 3 years of the applicant's course date at University of Notre Dame rather than the general 2 years.
