PhD admission with 51% marks in MA English is only possible when you belong to reserved category. If you belong to general category then you need at least 55% marks to become eligible for various PhD entrance exam for admission.
Hence, you can apply only when you belong to reserved category. If your aim is only PhD then you have other options like M.Phil for which you can apply with this percentage. After completion of M.Phil with required marks, you will be eligible for PhD admission.

Did you take your compartment exam? Did you qualify it? If no, then you need to repeat class 12th.
Good luck.

Hi,
The eligibility criteria for regular MA English in most of the universities is:
BA Honors in English or graduation with English as a subject in all 3 years of graduation with minimum 50 percentage.
So, you are not eligible for the same.
