In Indian, there's a vast scope for environmental science graduates. I have listed some of them:
1. Preference is given to environmental science postgraduates in Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB)/ State PCBs for the post of assistant environmental officers.
2. As environmental officer in industries (Effluent Treatment Plants ETP). With a good salary after some experience.
3. Jobs in Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) in municipalities.
4. You can start your own environmental consultancy services with relevant advisors.
5. As with any science stream, you can go for further research. Institutes like IISc, ATREE – Bangalore and NEERI - Nagpur offer research opportunities. Clearing UGC NET makes you eligible for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship).
6. Clearing UGC NET after PG makes you eligible for lectureship in universities, affiliated colleges.
