It is an important and insightful question Sonali. Itni important to note that Event Management is of course an emergency domain and the Certification/Degree from the best place is going to get related certainly. It should not be ke or as a hurdle that a Course done from other country won't make you completely enough to do or get best jobs. It shakl be otherwise as far as my opinion is co concerned. Please go ahead to pursue and get back with Maximum Competence. India also has events that are international.

After Doing a Graduation, you become eligible to do a Post Graduate Diploma which is more valid than a Diploma done after12th. You should pursue a Diploma in Event Management if you have the skills that can be enhanced by doing this course of Formal Learning in Event Management. While you pursue a PG Diploma, please do remember that some of the universities give direct admission to Second Year of Post Graduation on the basis of such Diploma. So Pursue something that gives you added advantage.

Hi Devyani,
Event management courses are generally offered at post graduate level. You need to have a graduation degree to pursue these courses. Although, there could be an exception that an institute might consider UG Diploma eligible for the course. You will need to check that with individual college. The best colleges offering mass communication are listed here https://www.shiksha.com/articles/top-5-event-management-colleges-in-india-blogId-11139.

You can go for event management course. That not only offer wedding but some other events also as in birthday parts, kitty parts, family get together. So, that will be better. First, go for small events, gain experience than only the client gave you opportunity for the big event as in wedding.
Best of luck.
