The UPPCS is a three-stage exam with overlapping syllabuses for prelims and Mains. The NCERTs are the best books to take into account for UPPCS exam preparation. Other than these, the following are some other books:
1. History: For this subject, in addition to the NCERTs, you can consult Ancient India by RS Sharma, Medieval History by Satish Chandra, and Modern India by Spectrum Publications.
2. Economy: Other than class 11th and 12th economics NCERT, you can refer to the Economic Survey and state budget for the year in which you are preparing for the exam.
3. Geography: NCERT for class 11 and G. C. Long are the best sources for geography. Additionally, you can refer to the state geography booklet, the state census, and the map.
4. Polity: The best book for this subject is Laxmikant. Other than that, you can refer to recent legislation and policies passed in Uttar Pradesh.
5. Environment and Ecology: You can refer to selective chapters of NIOS books and Shankar IAS Academy's environment book.
6. Science and Technology: For this, you must focus on the current news and classes 9 and 10 of the NCERT.
7. CSAT: You can refer to R. S. Agrawal for reasoning and quotation and any CSAT book for other sections of this paper.
