Territorial Army 2024 Exam: Indian Army will soon release the Territorial Army notification to select candidates for Civilian posts as Officers. Interested candidates can apply for the exam by registering on the official website of Indian Army. The selection process comprises screening, a written exam and an interview. Successful candidates are further called for Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.

The written exam of the Territorial Army is divided into two papers. Paper 1 comprises questions from Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics. Paper 2 comprises questions from the General Knowledge and English. The total marks allotted to the written exam are 200. The standard of Elementary Mathematics paper is of Class 10 level. The standard of questions in other subjects is of Graduation level.

What is Territorial Army Recruitment?

The Indian Territorial Army (TA) is the second line of defence after the Regular Indian Army. The present role of the Territorial Army is to relieve the regular army from static duties and assist the civil administration in dealing with natural calamities and maintenance of essentials. Presently, the Territorial Army has approximately 40,000 persons. Candidates can join the Territorial Army as Officers and Junior Commissioned Officers (JCO). The Territorial Army Officers (Non-Departmental) is done for Ex-Servicemen and Civilians.

Territorial Army Application Form 2024

Territorial Army application form 2024 will be made available online by the Indian Army. To submit Territorial Army application forms, candidates need to pay the required application fees. The application fee is INR 200.

  • Only Ex-Service Officers can apply who are in the age group of 18 to 42 years can apply. Candidates must be a graduate and physically and mentally fit
  • Serving member of the Regular Army/ Navy/ Air Force/ Police/ GREF/ Para Military and other forces are not eligible

Territorial Army Selection Process 

The selection process for Officers Civilians and Ex-Servicemen is given below:

Territorial Army Selection Process for Officers Civilians

Candidates applying successfully for the exam are called for screening. The screening comprises a written exam followed by an Interview, conducted by a Preliminary Interview Board by the respective Territorial Army Group Headquarters. Successful candidates are required to further undergo tests at a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection. The vacancies for male and female candidates are determined as per organizational requirements.

Territorial Army Selection Process for Ex-Servicemen

  • The Ex-Service Officers are screened by the Army Headquarters Selection Board (ASB) at Additional Directorate General Territorial Army
  • Ex Armed Forces Commissioned Officers will be selected through interview
  • The Ex-Service Officers undergo a medical examination at Armed Forces Clinic followed by their Police Verification for final selection

Territorial Army Exam Centres 

Territorial Army exam centres are announced along with the notification. The exam is conducted at multiple exam centres across more than 20 cities. Candidates are required to select TA exam centres while filling the application form. The examination authority reserves the right to allot exam centres to candidates. Territorial Army Exam Pattern 2024

Territorial Army exam pattern for Civilian post is such that it is divided into screening (written exam and interview), SSB, medical board for final selection. The written exam is divided into two papers. Paper 1 comprises questions from Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics. Paper 2 comprises questions from the General Knowledge and English. The question paper of Territorial Army comprises 200 objective-type questions. The total marks allotted to the written exam are 200. The structure of Paper 1 and 2 of written exam is given below.

Territorial Army result is announced online on the official website. However, the direct link to check the result is provided on this page. Territorial Army result PDF displays the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Candidates are required to secure minimum 40 per cent in each of the papers separately and overall they are required to secure 50 per cent.

Territorial Army Admit Card 2024

Territorial Army admit card is released online. To download Territorial Army admit card, candidates are required need to enter the required credentials. Territorial Army admit card comprised details regarding the exam date, exam centre, time and personal details of candidates. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post.

Territorial Army Salary & Career Growth

The Commission is granted in the rank of Lieutenant. Pay, allowances, and privileges are the same as regular army officers. Candidates can be promoted upto Lt. Col subjected to fulfilling the criteria. Officers commissioned in Infantry TA may be called for the military for a longer duration depending on the requirement.
