The IELTS test has four parts: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Each part checks your English skills.
- Listening: You listen to recordings and answer questions.
- Reading: You read passages and answer questions. Academic and General Training reading is different.
- Writing: There are two tasks. Academic asks to describe a graph or chart. General Training asks to write a letter.
- Speaking: You talk face-to-face with the examiner. It has three parts: introduce yourself, speak on a topic, and talk more about it.

The difficulty of IELTS exam is not same for everyone. It depends on your English level and how much you prepare. Many students find IELTS Writing and IELTS Speaking little hard because you need good ideas and fluency.
But if you do practice and know the test format, the exam becomes easy. Focus more on your weak areas and you can get a good band score.

In my opinion you have to take B.A (arts) because it give you extra time to prepare for nda.In semester paper you have to write anything or top 10 question, your academic exam will over. And rest of the time you always prepare for your nda examination serioulsy. If u take btech/physics or math hons, you have to work hard, have to give time for academic as well but also an advantage is that you are eligible for nda exam at graduation level also.
