You have to score good marks in GATE exam then only you can get admission in any good college for M.Tech as you have scored less, you can take one more chance, prepare well and take GATE exam again next year so that you can score good marks.

They did not mention specific names. But the Admission Policy for NIT students is :
Students who are enrolled under National Institute of Technology will have to score a CGPA (cumulative grade point average) of 8 by the end of their third year (6th Semester) of the B.Tech programme will be able to sit for an interview round, which will be the deciding factor for admission into the Ph.D. course. Shortlisted students will be capable to take admission in Ph.D. directly without appearing for GATE exam. See there is no limit in the number of attempts you can give in WBJEE exam but it is useless to give attempts more than 2. Be wise and don't go for more than 2 attempts.

The major thing that you should follow is the pattern. Maths is given the highest priority with 100 marks and is considered to be the lengthiest paper. Indeed, it is lengthy but the art of choosing questions play a key role here. One has to choose questions at first that are easy to solve and are scoring, then try for the little tough ones and if there is time, go for the difficult.
