Galgotias University's B.Des (Fashion Design) course is very practical in its curriculum. Courses include fashion illustration, textile studies, garment construction, draping, styling and portfolio development. workshops and project-based assignments, so not only theory. Overall, the curriculum gives a good foundation, but it is also important to build your skills and a strong portfolio for yourself.

This is one of the most debated questions among fashion design aspirants in India. NIFT is a government institute with lower fees, stronger brand value, and a more competitive admission process.

Pearl Academy on the other hand, is a private college with more flexible admission criteria, modern infrastructure, and strong industry tie-ups. If you can crack the NIFT entrance exam, it is the better choice for most students. But if NIFT does not work out, Pearl Academy is a solid backup that still gives you good industry exposure and placement opportunities.

Yes, you absolutely can. Most top fashion design colleges in India do not require a prior design background for admission. What they look for is creativity, observation skills, and your performance in the entrance exam which usually includes a creative ability test, situation test, and personal interview. Colleges like NIFT and NID conduct their own entrance exams that test your design thinking rather than textbook knowledge. So even if you come from a Science or commerce background, you can crack these exams with the right preparation.

The biggest error that I have seen in BCA application is the seekers whittling by a college on merely considering the fee or location of the college, without checking whether it to be recognised by UGC, AICTE, etc., or affiliated to some reputed university. Many small private institutes offer fashion diplomas without proper recognition, which can often cause a problem later in applying for higher studies or jobs, etc. Always check the faculty experience, affiliation, placement record, infrastructure, etc. of a college for which you are planning to pay the fee.
