NIFT Lateral Entry Admission (NLEA) provides an opportunity to candidates who have completed their Diploma in relevant or related fields of Design & Technology for direct admission to the third semester of UG programmes of NIFT. 

The exam timings for NIFT exam are given in the table below.

PG candidates will be evaluated on the various parameters as listed below by a panel in the Personal Interview:

1. Career orientation 

2. Aptness for the course 

3. Overall personal achievements in academics and co-curricular activities 

4. Communication 

5. General awareness, aptitude, creative and lateral thinking 

The Situation Test/ Personal Interview (PI) is the 2nd stage of the NIFT entrance exam. Candidates were shortlisted for the Situation Test/ PI based on the NIFT written exam scores.

• If the candidate fails to qualify for the 2nd stage, he or she is not considered for admission to various design courses offered by the NIFTs.
• The only exception is B.F.Tech program, where the merit list for admission will be prepared solely on the basis of GAT scores.

The NIFT sample papers are meant to be used as practice material only. So, they can only be a part of the NIFT study material. To learn the basic concepts and theoretical aspects of the subject, you will still need to refer to NIFT textbooks.

 In addition to the sample and question papers released by the National Institute of Fashion Technology, the candidate may also solve sample papers published by leading publishers like Arihant. 

WWI exam - General Ability Test will be conducted in a computer-based mode. It will be of 1 hour. Application forms are open for all the programmes at WWI.

The application form for WWI 2026 entrance exam has to be filled in online mode. Applications downloaded online and submitted in offline mode will not be accepted.

The admission portal of the institute will include the detailed process for filling out the application form. Make sure that you carefully go through it.

Whistling Woods International Institute of Film, Communication and Creative Arts hasn't specified a last date for submission of the WWI application form. So, candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can submit their forms. 

Follow the steps given below to withdraw from the NIFT Counselling.

1. Go to the NIFT admission portal
2. Log in to the portal
3. If will see an option for seat withdrawal.
4. Click on the option and confirm the withdrawal process 
5. Once the withdrawal is confirmed, the allotted seat will be canceled.

I don't know whether one can do Fashion Design after 12th with any stream or not with required minimum marks. Admission process is simple and if you appear in CUCET you will also get eligible for getting scholarships. The course curriculum and opportunities for the portfolio are also of interest for those interested in design.
