Film & Television Studies prepares students for a variety of careers in cinema, television, and video. The degree blends video production coursework with screenwriting and critical studies, allowing students to build their areas of specialisation. At LPU the degree has been designed to expose Film and Television Production students to all elements of Film Production:
Storytelling, Scriptwriting, Editing, Photography, Cinematography, Direction, Production management, Relevant software, Communication skills, Relevant equipment, Direction, Sound Designing, Art Direction and Acting for enhancing creative, Aesthetic, and Technical skills in all Genres of Film Making with Specialisation. This is for the wide variety of Careers in the Film Industry and TV Channels are also intended. LPU Students are working with media companies like Asian News International, Vistara, News-X, Radio Mirchi, Zee Media, Indian Express, Book my show, Thomson Digital, Xentrix Studio, Code Brew Labs, Cube Digital, and various other super brands. Short Film Think of Sajan Kataria, a student of M.Sc. Design (Film and TV Production) got selected among the 10 Best films to screen in the Kala Ghoda International Film Festival. The students go for Film Festival Visits, Live Projects, Industry Exposure. There are guest lectures by eminent tv personalities, journalists, workshops, seminars to widen the horizons of the students. Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2021 and Aspire magazine of India Today group has also ranked it among top universities of the future. LPU received an Employability award by Aspiring Mind in 2020 for best placement Institute in India. LPU is ranked 10th best university for Training and Placements.

Being an LPU alumnus I can proudly answer this question:Eleven students from Lovely Professional University have been selected to represent India at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, which will take place from July 23 to August 8, 2021. In Wrestling, Hockey Athletics, and Paralympics, the athletes will represent the United States. This is the biggest number of students from an Indian private university ever chosen for an Indian Olympic contingent. Manpreet Singh, the captain of the Indian hockey team and an LPU student, will be India's Flag Bearer during the Tokyo Olympics Opening Ceremony. Six other LPU students are members of the Indian Means Hockey Team. Wrestling, hockey, athletics (javelin throw and sprinting), and Paralympics will all feature LPU students. As my neighbor's daughter completed this programme from LPU and is now working in a production company. He is also doing modeling in magazines as a freelancer.
