For gaming, there are also 2 parts: development and designing but in game designing, you must have knowledge of 2D and 3D animation along with knowledge of programming languages.
You can visit Maya Academy or Arena animation for more information regarding game development course.

To be a game designer, one must have knowledge of drawing and he must have a thinking process, which is unnatural. To learn how to develop games, one must be well versed with game development along with game design. Game design is not about multimedia software like 3D software or 2D software, it is a skill-set.
This field is divided into four parts:
1. Game development (Requires logic and art).
2. Game design (Requires art and skill-set of visualization).
3. Game art (Need excellent visualization and drawing skill set as well as color concepts).
4. Game testing (Need logic and efforts).

Animation calls for a wide bouquet of skills from traditional art skills to articulation skills, storytelling to aesthetic appreciation, and creativity to technical prowess. CSE stands for Computer Science Engineering. It's a branch of engineering. To be able to get through to the gaming industry, you need to be good with coordinate geometry and graphical / visual programming.
