Have you actually designed anything as yet? Before convincing your family, you need to be certain of few facts:
Studying abroad even for a diploma for a year will cost you 15 to 25k US dollars and for an average indian family, its a huge amount. Be doubly sure of your goal and think if you will be able to earn it back. Have an open discussion with them and if you know that's your passion, I am sure they will agree.

It is really tough to directly comment on any institute best or not or answer which is the best institute in a city or country , especially for domains like web designing, animation and VFX or gaming etc. where many institutes offer many types of courses for different duration for the almost all the same pipeline .
We need to see the content of the course , duration, cost , infra, earlier students outputs and skill developed , in-time course completion record , certification process & delivery of certificate in time etc.
Also Same Brand has different centers and branches and fortunately/unfortunately all does not perform the same . Some

I have attended the same kind of query earlier also , for you also i would prefer to say the same thing. game design is a combination of Technical ( Programming ) & creative skills . Hence you need to have programming knowledge also design skills ( this you can gain by joining any mid term course in animation / gaming )
