GATE Application Form

A candidate will most likely be allotted a centre in the examination city of his or her first choice. Only in cases where there are too many candidates opting for a certain city as their first choice, the other two choices become relevant. That is, candidates will have to choose the GATE exam cities for 2024 during the application process. The exam conducting authority will also allow the candidates to make changes to the earlier selected exam centres during the correction period without paying any additional fee. Check below for the documents needed to be uploaded to complete the GATE 2024 registration process:
- A high-quality image of a candidate's photograph conforming to the specified requirements (File size should be between 2KB and 200KB)
- Good quality image of candidate's signature conforming to the specified requirements (File size should be between 2KB and 150KB)
- Scanned copy of the Eligibility Certificate in pdf format (Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate or Certificate from the Head of the Department/ Institute (format specified in Appendix A of the Information Brochure) (File size should be between 10KB and 300KB)
- Scanned copy of Category (SC/ST) Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format (File size should be between 10KB and 300KB)
- Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format (File size should be between 10KB and 300KB)
- Scanned copy of Dyslexic Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format (File size should be between 10KB and 300KB)
- Details of the valid Identity Document* (ID) (The same ID, in original, should be carried to the examination hall)
- Net-banking/debit card/credit card details for fee payment

After completely filling out the GATE 2023 application form and submitting all the details, you will have to digitally sign and accept the GATE declaration, through which a candidate accepts that all the information provided by a candidate is true. If the declaration is not accepted, it may lead to the rejection of the application. If a candidate wants to check the GATE application status, he or she can log in to the GOAPS. Candidates need to enter their enrollment ID and password to check the application status. Also, "under scrutiny" or "under process' means that the application is still being scrutinised. No, a candidate does not need to send a printout of the GATE application form to the organising institute or any other GATE zonal offices. The application process for GATE 2023 is online and requires required documents, details that should be uploaded via the application process. It is required to keep a copy of the GATE application form for future reference. However, it is not required to send a hard copy of the GATE application form to the organising institute. When a candidate fill out the application form online then he or she have to pay the GATE 2024 application fee and the application-fee is non-refundable. Online Net-banking payment details are mentioned below:
- While submitting the GATE 2024 application form, the website used to redirect to an online payment gateway page. Candidates need to choose the bank or mode of payment on this page, after which they are redirected to the website of the bank of their choice. - Candidates need to pay the fee via net banking or a debit card or an e-challan. - When a candidate will try to pay the fee he or she will be shown the fee amount and bank charges. Then, they have to confirm that the payment is for GATE 2024. - After successful payment of the GATE 2024 application form, candidates will be redirected to the GATE online application website. - If a student comes across any difficulty due to an internet connection or power failure, etc. And they are not sure whether the payment is processed or not, they need to login back to GOAPS and check the status of the payment. Students can also check the status with their bank. - Also, in case the fee amount is debited from a student's bank account and GOAPS does not acknowledge any fee payment, then the money will be credited back to the account within seven working days. - In such a case, a candidate may initiate a fresh payment using GOAPS even without waiting for the money to be credited back to the account, so that the application will be on time. - Once the payment is successful, a unique Fee Payment Number will be generated that must be saved by the candidate, as it will be used in the later stages when he/she fills out the GATE 2024 Application form. While filling out the GATE application form, if a power cut or internet connection fails during the submission of the application process, the candidate has to get back online to the GATE 2024 website. That means a candidate has to log in again to the GOAPS website and continue the application process. GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is conducted annually.
