The extended online registration in GATE 2026 implies that candidates can submit their application form by paying a late fee of INR 500 during that timeline. Candidates who have missed out the GATE application form deadline dates can submit during this period. Regular online registration in GATE 2026 means, that the candidate can submit their application form without paying an extra/late fees. Candidates can register and submit their GATE application form 2026 at the GOAPS portal. The required credentials are - Enrollment ID and password. 

Yes, the conducting authority (IIT Guwahati for GATE 2026) allows candidates to submit their GATE application form in two different dates, without late fees and with late fees. So, if any candidate has missed out the GATE submission dates can submit their form within the extended timeline, where they have to pay a certain fee. 

The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati released the GATE 2026 application form on August 28. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can register for the GATE 2026. The mode of the application form is online and must be submitted within the given timeline.

The correction window for GATE 2026 will open 1 to 2 weeks after the completion of GATE application form. The exact dates will be notified on the GATE's 2026 official website. During this period, candidates can make specific edits by paying a certain amount of fees. 

The fee to add secondary paper is INR 500. The accepted payment modes are credit card, debit card, net banking, and UPI. Candidates are advised to keep a receipt of the payment successful for future purposes. 

To add a secondary paper in the GATE application form, follow the steps below -

• Log in to the GATE 2026 GOAPS portal during the correction period. (The form correction window usually opens for three days after the registration process)
• Select "add secondary paper" option and choose the desired paper and pay the additional fee.
• Ensure that your primary and secondary paper are from the approved combinations prescribed by the authorities. 

Additional second paper fee in GATE exam would be based on your category and would be equal to single paper fee (i.e. you have to pay each paper separately):

General/ OBC and other unreserved students: 1800 Rs per paper i.e. 2 papers add to 3600Rs.

Candidates who belong to Female/SC/ST/PwD: The fee per paper is 900, which means that they need to pay the total amount of 1,800 (two papers).

Should the member already have registered one paper and wishes to have a second ( of valid combination), he will be required to pay the supplementary fee that matches with the single paper fee of his/her section
