First, if you studied well in graduation, your 25% GS automatically completed (means memorized). Geography covers approximately. 25% of GS paper.
2. Geography is a subject which also helps you in general competition in almost every stream.
3. Most important, if you take geography as your honors subject and study well, you will take this paper as your UPSC Mains paper. It helps you most and almost 18% aspirants qualify UPSC by taking geographical as their Mains paper.

As per the internet research, you can go to any local book store and ask for M.Sc Geography book and I can say that you must read NCERT 10+2 books and graduation standard. By continue study of these NCERT and graduation standard book, you can clear this exam.
