After the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases the SSC JE Paper 2 result, the final merit list is made for the candidates combining the marks of Paper 1 and Paper 2. The candidates whose roll numbers appear in the final merit list are called for the document verification stage. The candidates have to submit the documents asked by the SSC like marksheets, passing certificate, etc., for different stages of education, identity proof like driving license, pan card, etc. Once the provisionally selected candidates clears the document verification round then the SSC provides appointment letter to the candidates acording to their preferences adn the performance in the exam. The Commission than recommends the candidates for the appointment purposes to the Ministry of Personnel.

The Commission prepares the separate list for each category and the result is based on the cut off prepared for that category. The candidates are selected from their category list according to their performance, as the Commissions distributes the number of vacancies according to the categories. However, the candidates who secure more than or equal marks to the Unreserved categories are selected under the unreserved vacancies category.
