Total marks of Mains exam is 1750. Mains exam is a subjective exam that takes place after prelims exam. You need to qualify prelims exam for giving Mains exam. Mains exam consists of total of 9 papers. 4 papers are of general studies, 2 papers are of optional subjects, 1 paper essay, 1 paper English language and 1 paper is of any Indian language. Duration of all papers is 3 hours. Language paper will be of 300 marks each and rest every paper will be of 250 marks. In language paper, you need to score qualifying marks only that is 33%.
