The students are enrolled by the institute based on the performance in the NIFT entrance, which comprises a written exam, group discussions, and personal interviews. However, in some instances, the facility of direct admissions is availed by a few candidates in cases of sports quotas or other exceptional achievements-but this would be rather an exception. You may contact the admissions office to obtain the latest and most accurate information regarding chances of direct admission, particularly in cases of exceptional circumstances.
