No, candidates do not require passing an entrance exam for admission to BTech (lateral entry) at Himachal Pradesh University. Admission to BTech (LE) courses is based on merit of the aspirants in the last qualifying exam. Candidates need to complete a three-year Diploma preferably in the same branch (IT/CSE/CE/EE/ECE) with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for reserved category) ), preferably from Himachal Pradesh State Board of Technical Education or equivalent to get admission in BTech (LE) programme.

Yes, candidates need to pass Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics and any other elective subjects with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) to apply for BTech/ BTech (Hons) programme at Himachal Pradesh University. Both Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects to apply for BTech/ BTech (Hons) course.

Candidates who have completed a bachelor's degree of a University established by law in India (with the subject of study for MSc as one of the subjects) in 2nd Division or with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate in case of SC/ST candidates) or Honours in the subject concerned are eligible to apply for the MSc programme at Himachal Pradesh University. Aspirants should hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission.
