No it is not mandatory. A graduation degree in a relevant discipline is the minimum requirement. IAS is open to doctors, engineers, lawyers, etc.
You'll be given a choice to select optional subjects while applying for Civil Services.
You have not shared your academic details. However, there are several factors that need to be considered before choosing a particular stream after Class 12.
This is because the chosen stream would determine which path your career would take and the two main factors that should be taken into note while choosing a stream are:
Aptitude of the student
Personal Interests
Options for you-
Science Stream-
B.E/B.TECH

No friend.it is not.IAS examination does not has any confined syllabus.a student from any field can apply for the IAS examination after pursuing graduation.all the best!
