Hotel Management

The 3 year B.Sc. Specialisation programme in Hospitality & Hotel Administration is offered at select Institutes at Chennai, Goa, Kolkata and Mumbai location only. Admission to the programme is same as that for 3-year B.Sc. Ie. Through NCHM-JEE, During the study the first three semesters are common to both the streams ie. Generic and Specialisation. In the forth semester, students who opt for specialisation are allotted their choice based on merit and marks scored by them in the semesters one and two. Specialisation scheme:There are three fields of specialisation offered in Semester IV, V and VI namely:
1. Food Production Management.
2. Food & Beverage Management.
3. Accommodation Management. Students of specialisation are to undergo fourteen weeks of Practicum or Industrial Training after each semester. No inter-change of Specialisation is allowed. While the first three semesters are common to the Generic and Specialisation stream of the three year B.Sc. Programme, limited seats are available for specialisation which is offered from the fourth semester onwards. Once a stream is allocated, no change of specialisation stream is permitted thereafter. The Three-Year (Six Semester) B.Sc. Generic programme equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. The programme also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skill standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping. It also provides managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety & Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management. This programme is offered at all IHMs. So B.Sc. Generic have great scope over specialisation.
