Every country has its pros and cons and also it depend on what exactly you are planning to study and where you want to settle. Australia is slightly expensive than Canada and you have to complete two academic years to gain the work permit which is overlooked by many. Canada on the other hand is very selective and if you don't have high academic grades chances to study in Canada is less. In terms of acceptance rates Australia has more options.

Suppose if want to go abroad (English speaking nation) for your further study or willing to work abroad then this exam is required. It shows how fluent you are in English (all round). You can appear in this exam when you are fully prepared. Its result is shown in band levels ranging from 0 to 9. The more the band you scores the more you are proficient in English.
