At the postgraduate level, the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur offers M.Sc. In Applied Geology. Yes, IIEST Shibpur is good for a Master's degree in Geology as the college is a well-ranked one. The placements offered here are also great. Admission to M.Sc. Yes, you can get it according to the 2022 cutoff in 6th round, which is 6462 for OBC other state quota. But I can not give you 100% assurance as IIEST is now moving out from the dual degree course to 4 year B.Tech which results in considerable change in cutoffs. Anyways, all the best and you may get other branches if not CS.

No it would be difficult as the rank should be below 8000 atleast for getting mining engineering and all other courses subsequently the ranks are below 5000.

For metallurgical Engineering NIT is the best if we check placements then you will find that NIT is better than IIEST Shibpur. For further studies, the best NIT colleges are NIT Durgapur, NIT Warangal, NIT Rourkela, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Karnataka, NIT Jaipur. Best of luck for your future.
