See there is a lot of benefits of being a PCM students because you can somehow understand some famous topics of biology in less time but PCB students can not understand maths in less time because maths is not as easy as biology to cover.

Some important topics in biology for IISER entrance exam are:
Ecology and environment, genetics and evolution and reproduction. Questions would be mostly from these topics. It does not mean that you won't get any question outside this. It only means they carry more weightage.
You can also practice the IISER 2018 sample papers. This will help you to get an idea about the kind of questions that are asked from various subjects and topics.

Absolutely! You can but you have to get admission in IISERs from any one of the channels among JEE Advance, KVPY or IISER apt. You can crack KVPY or IISER apt to get admission in IISER. Also, IISER apt is the easiest way to get admission in the college.
