GATE COAP Round 6 Seat Allotment results have been released on Jun 23 by IIT Kharagpur for IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. The last date to view offers and take a decision for Round was Jun 25 (9 AM). Options available to candidates for Round 6 include 'Accept & Freeze' and 'Reject & Wait'.
GATE COAP 2023 is to be conducted in five main and five additional rounds for admission to IITM.Techcourses. The interview for the IIT ISM Dhanbad PhD admission 2023 is scheduled to be held from May 25 to May 29 as per the released schedule. Qualified candidate may obtain their individual Interview Call Letter by logging in with their respective user-id and password through the online application portal. If a candidate wants to take M.Tech admissions, then in this case IIT Dhanbad does not accept 3 years degree. Further, for admissions to M.Sc. And MBA course, a 3 years degree programme is accepted by IIT Dhanbad.

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad was ranked 15 in the Engineering category by NIRF ranking 2025. Moreover, the institute has been ranked 35 in the overall category by the NIRF ranking 2025. Further, the institute was ranked 48 by NIRF 2025 in the management category.

To be eligible for BTech programmes, candidates must have completed Class 12 with 75% aggregate (65 per cent for SC/ST). Moreover, if the candidates want to apply for BTech and Integrated MTech at IIT ISM Dhanbad, then they can apply via JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. The JEE Main application process consists of three steps, i.e. , registration, form filling & documents upload followed by payment of application fees.

During IIT Dhanbad placements 2023, a total of 1,049 job offers were distributed among the 1,014 students placed. Out of 234 PPOs offered, over 199 were accepted. Moreover, the IIT Dhanbad average package stood at INR 17.69 LPA and the highest package offered was INR 56 LPA. Additionally, the institute has also released the internship details for the 2024 batch and a total of 422 internship offers were made. Further, the monthly stipend ranged between INR 15,000 and INR 2 lakh.
