IIT Guwahati offer M.Tech for the duration of 2 years in various specialisations such as Computer Science and Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Science and Technology, etc. via 11 Departments. IIT Guwahati M.Tech admission is entrance-based. Further, the M.Tech selections are done based on the exam and counselling rounds.
Candidates must secure a valid score in BTech or BE/ MCA/ MSc/ Graduation (AMIETE) with 60% aggregate or 6.0 CPI. The minimum marks requirement is relaxed by lowering 0.5% CPI or 5% aggregate for SC/ST/PwD category candidates. In addition to this, candidates must qualify GATE and COAP counselling.

IIT Guwahati admissions are done through national-level tests conducted by various authorities for the admission to UG, PG, and PhD level courses. Admission to all the courses is entrance-based, therefore, candidates must appear for the respective entrance exam and qualify for its cutoff. The institute offer admission based on valid scores in JEE Main/ JEE Advanced/ GATE or equivalent to qualify for the admission process.

Applications for admission to the MA in Development Studies course at IIT Mandi need to be received by April 11, 2025, by 5:30 PM. Interviewing will take place between April 26 to 29 and tests between April 21 to 25. In the case of IIT Guwahati, it is April 15, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The same applies to the other IITs; see their respective sites for dates.

JEE Advanced is the conducting exam for the selection of the candidates for BTech and BTech Integrated courses at IIT Guwahati. For DS and AI program, the category-wise cutoffs are given below:

IITs offers BTech admission via JEE Advanced scores. Considering the IIT Guwahati cutoff 2024, the most-sought-after course was BTech in Computer Science and Engineering for the General AI category candidates. Comparing the 2024 CSE cutoff with previous years, a fluctuation in the CSE cutoff has been seen in three years. Wherein 2023 and 2022 CSE cutoffs were 589 and 654, respectively. Likewise, 2024 CSE cutoff stood at 623. Candidates can find below the CSE cutoffs for five years from the table below:

It is your personal choice which option you want to follow. I am listing here few points which you may consider:

2) University of Edinburgh is excellent in the field of CS, IT and technology fields while IIT Guwahti is perfect for pursuing Core Engineering.
3) EU Firms, Google, Microsoft hires directly and actively from University of Edinburgh while Amazon, Google hires students from IIT Guwahti to work

Upon a comparison of fees for the two-year MBA programme at Sushant University and Great Lakes Guwahati, Sushant University charges a fixed fee of INR 5.5 lakh for the course. In comparison, Great Lakes Guwahati offers a variable fee ranging from INR 3.7 Lacs - INR 11.5 lakh based on the specialisation offered.
