Engineering (all branches)
Imperial strongly prioritizes Mathematics and Physics.
Required subjects:
Mathematics (mandatory)
Physics (mandatory for most engineering courses)
Further Mathematics (strongly recommended, sometimes effectively required)
Competitive expectations (for Indian boards like CBSE/ISC):
95%+ overall
95–98% in Mathematics
95%+ in Physics
High marks in Chemistry (for Chemical Engineering)
If you have 90–92% in Maths but 97% overall, it may still be weak for top Engineering branches.
Computing (Computer Science)

It is very tough to get into Imperial College of London due to the competition that it has. But the applications are evaluated based on the academics, invlovement in extracurricular activities and the English language tests.
- The candidates may be called for an interview for the competitive programs like Medicine and Engineering.
- In general, the interviews are held for those who show strong potential in their applications and admission tests.

ICL classifies universities like BHU, DU, JNU etc. as Tier 1 institutes (check official university website for full list) and states the following score equivalence as per the requirement for your course of choice:
For Tier 1-

Students with potential visible in their UCAS applications will be offered a virtual interview or in person interview between Nov-Feb for Imperial College London admissions. The department of your course of choice will reach out directly and the university will use the email provided on the UCAS application for the invitation so be on your toes for the same
