It's very nice to see your enthusiasm and dream of doing Ph.D. You have already won half the battle. For Ph.D, many universities have introduced an exam to accept only suitable candidates. Hence, you need to appear and pass this exam. In addition, it's always best to do research in the same University from where you did your PG.
