IIITDM Kancheepuram offers BTech seats as per the JoSAA counselling rounds. The total seat intake for the BTech course is around 559. The seats is further subdivided among its offered specialisations. Candidates must make sure to pay the counselling fees and confirm their seatsrese arfter the seat allotment procedure. Electronics and Communication Engineering has a total of 128 seats, Smart Manufacturing has 60 seats, Computer Science and Engineering has 89 seats, and many more.

Application Deadlines in IIITDM Kancheepuram are different for the courses and vary each academic year. B.Tech course admission is through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), but strictly on the rank list prepared from JEE Main ranks, which the administration provides yearly dates for. For the M.Tech, CCMT- Centralized Counseling for M.Tech will do admission work. Admission to these is on GATE scores, for which time is provided by CCMT. The applications for Ph.D. programs have their dates mentioned on the official institute website; the last date to apply for the January 2025 session was November 11, 2024.
