JEE Advanced Exam will be conducted on 27th May 2019. So, only a month left for the exam. You should start solving previous year question papers. This is the best way to prepare for the exam as this will give you an idea about the pattern and difficulty level of the questions. Be updated with all the latest JEE Advanced Notification & Updates. Also, take online mock tests. This will help you increase your speed while answering questions. Learn all the formulas and make notes of them. This will help you in your last minute preparation. It's nice to hear from you that you are interested in taking a year off for the preparation of JEE Mains. Yes, it's a good idea. I would like to advise you that join a coaching institute. One learns many things from our fellow students besides knowing different ways of studying the same subject. In addition, classes will invariably organise mock tests which are very useful ingredients in a successful attempt at JEE Mains.
Best wishes to you.

Who will be allowed to appear for JEE Advanced and who will not, will be dependent on the results of JEE Mains. National Testing Agency is expected to make an announcement in this regard shortly. I would like to advise you not to get worried on this aspect because nobody can actually predict with certainty as to what will happen to a student belonging to different reserved categories. It is expected that roughly 30% of the students will be cleared to appear for JEE Advanced from each catagory.
Best wishes to you for your dreams of appearing in JEE Advanced.
