IIT Tirupati CSE cutoff 2026 is based on candidates' performance in the JEE Advanced entrance exam, followed by JoSSA counselling. In Round 1, the CSE closing rank was 5342 for the General AI category. In 2025, the first-round closing rank for the same branch was 4620, while in 2024 it was 4469. So, considering the three years closing ranks, JEE Advanced has not seen any drop in the CSE closing ranks during Round 1 admission.

If you belong to the General AI category and have secured a cutoff rank of 2000 in JEE Advanced, the possibility is higher that you will get a call from IIT Patna for BTech admission. IIT Patna BTech cutoff 2026 for Round 1 ranged between 3303 and 14611. So, considering the first round ranks, 2000 is a good rank for admission.

Both IISER and JEE Advanced are national level entrance examination. They serves two different purpose. IISER exam is for those who want to pursue careers in core Science, while JEE Advanced is for Engineering education in IITs. Both exam are conceptual based. IISER is considered moderate to difficulty. While JEE Advanced is considered difficult to tough.

Yes, your son can easily appear for ongoing JoSAA 2026 counselling and the choice-filling process. However, to get a seat on IIT, your son must score 75% aggregate in the 12th CBSE for the general category, and for SC/ST/PwD, the score must be 65%.
