Hello Sai,
These days, the performance of OBC students is outstanding. In some cases, cut-offs for OBC is higher than general category students. Hence I feel that 139 marks are on the boundary and a lot depends on how other OBC students have scored in the exam.

If he has already prepared for JEE in the last two or one year and already read most of the topics, so definitely yes. You can give yourself another chance to get a much better college this year. But, if you haven't prepared for JEE in your class 11th or class 12th, I would not suggest you to drop a year. But, if you think you can do it and you have a fire within yourself, you don't need someone else to motivate you. Taking a drop can be mentally challenging for a 17-18 year old, so be prepared and try to focus on the process not on the results. All the best.

Hello Ankit,
Frankly, I have not understood the meaning of your words 'preferable syllabus'. Let me still try to answer. The syllabus for JEE Mains is same as that for 12th of CBSE. Even the exam is conducted by CBSE only. You can download the syllabus by visiting the relevant web page of CBSE.

Hi Aakash,
You have a good percentage in 10+2, but Thapar University mainly considers JEE Mains marks and you're asking that to in CSE, it's so difficult to get in that branch I suggest you check other ones.
