Hello Yash,
For an OC candidate, to get a seat at the top NITs, your score should be above 300. And so, you may get a desired branch in a top ranking NIT.
You may also get a good college by home state ranks.

JEE Mains is just step 1 to get into an IIT, the real test is JEE Advanced, a score of 150+ in JEE Mains will make you eligible to take JEE Advanced.

Hello Sathyaprakash,
There are totally 3 attempts for JEE Mains and 2 for JEE Advanced. You may appear in these exams by qualifying the eligibility conditions.
These exams are just to help you get a seat in the top institutes and not a compulsion.
So, repeating the exams won't affect your job profiles but you may need to answer for the time dilation.

If you have decent marks in the plus two, anything above 170 in JEE Mains will be good to get into SVNIT.
