Candidates who qualified for the JEE Main test can appear for this crucial phase of the admissions process. Details of the counselling will be published on the official website of JoSAA. This makes everything very transparent and clear to each and every student. The interested candidate has to complete the registration process within the stipulated time to secure a seat for counselling. This will lead to admissions to some of the most prestigious institutions, like GFTIs, IIITs, and NITs. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority shall do counselling in six rounds, giving adequate options to candidates.

It is improbable that one will be admitted to an NIT or IIIT with a CRL rank of 6.4 Lacs and a SC category rank of 45,000 in JEE Mains, particularly in highly competitive fields like computer Science or electronics. In branches with lesser demand or in more recent or less well-liked NITs or IIITs, you might still have a chance. Your prospects can be improved by taking part in the JoSAA counselling process and thinking about special rounds like CSAB, but you must have backup options, such state engineering colleges or other private universities.

Obtaining admission to SASTRA University, Thanjavur, with a 70 percentile in JEE Mains may be difficult, particularly for in-demand fields like computer Science or electronics. SASTRA uses a special 70:30 ratio for admissions, taking into account both JEE Main results and 12th board exam grades. Depending on the level of competition that year, you might still have a chance in other engineering streams even though the percentile may not ensure a spot in the top branches. It's best to apply as soon as possible and look into additional choices inside the university's admissions procedure.
