This I will demonstrate you by way of a little mathematics. Your percentile means that almost 1% of the total students appearing or above you in order of merit. If we are shown of figure of 10 Lacs students who appeared for this examination then one percent comes to about 10000. The total number of seats available for this branch is not this much. In addition almost every student gives this branch as the first choice hence the closing ranks or really high. Hello Palash Choubey, the counselling for JEE Mains as well as for JEE Advanced these conducted at the same time. This is because many students who are eligible for admission in NIT appear in JEE Advanced examination and if they clear that exam with good marks they may get admission in IIT and in that case this if any seat is allotted to them in NIT may go waste. SAGE deemed to be a university located at Bhopal conducts its own entrance exam and gives admission based on the results of this test.
