Hello,
No, it's not compulsory to take JEE Mains Paper 2. If you want to pursue the B.Arch & B. planning courses then you can appear in JEE Mains Paper 2. JEE Mains Paper 2 exam is conducted for admission in B.Arch & B. planning courses at popular Centrally funded Technical institutes (CFTIs) and National Institute of Technology (NITs).
Best of luck!

For NIT college, you have to score around 200 marks in JEE Mains paper. But, for IIT you will have to qualify JEE Advanced exam.

None of the IITs offer admission on the basis of JEE Mains. They offer admission to students on the basis of JEE Advanced. If you wish to have admission in this college, then please give JEE Advanced and secure a good rank.

The final AIR will be declared after April 2019, considering the best score out of the two JEE Main attempts for all the applicants, hence based on current percentile we cannot predict for which all colleges you are eligible. Wait for the final AIR declaration.
