I'd suggest against taking up engineering if you're not sure of what you want to do, because it's a rat race out there, and you'll regret it later. I'd suggest you choose between the other two.

To wisely prepare for your JEE 2018, you can join any good coaching institute. They will give you proper guidance, and then you can ask your senior for dropper batch modules which contain most of the probable topics for your exam.

Yes, as the study material will be entirely according to your requirements for JEE Mains. It is well planned and well-designed according to the paper pattern.

No, it is not necessary to take coaching. Refer study material and use online sources like YouTube. For Physics, you can use YouTube channel Physics with Pradeep at free of cost. Use google for free online mock tests. If you work hard you do not need such coaching. Even I cracked JEE Mains without coaching.

You may get enough material for JEE preparation on the various websites like topper.com, which provide enough material and you can even go for DLP courses of AKASH or BANSAL.

Try to study ncert books from 11th. Solve problems based on applications. Focus on physics mostly. Study hard for 2 years.

Hello Prahalad,
No, you should not spend 2 years for IIT after class 12th. Many students spend only a maximum of 1 year and that too only if they have the confidence of getting into IIT by doing hard work. Also, you need to answer the question, why did you spend a year after class 12th? When the companies come for placements, they always look for the continuity in studies.
So, choose wisely. If you can get admission in IIT then drop 1 year, if you cant then don't waste time as many have failed in JEE Advanced even after spending a year.

Don't waste your 2-3 years. Instead, take admission in a good college and pursue engineering, and become a good engineer.
Good luck.
